Plainview Firm Constructs Trailers Seen All Over Nation

The president and chief marketing officer of a manufacturer here wants Nebraskans to be on the lookout.

Jennifer Thompson of Sidump’r Trailer Co. Inc. said her goal is to make the side-dumping trailers manufactured here “a household name in the construction world across the nation.”

“Keep your ear to the ground and your eyes on Plainview; exciting things are to come for Sidump’r Trailer both in the near future and further down the road,” she added.

Sidump’r is an industry leading manufacturer of a side-dump trailers and employs about 35 people at this time, Thompson said.

Plainview is the company’s only manufacturing location, but the trailers produced are used across the entire nation.

Since 1997, Sidump’r had been a part of the Northeast Nebraska business community.

Thompson said that she is working to make sure that people across the country are educated about the benefits of the unique trailers.

“My continual goal is to educate as many people as possible in as many new locations as to why they should be using a Sidump’r Trailer,” she said.

She said that the manufacturer is in “an exciting stage of development right now” and the company is “fortunate to have the ability to employ the hard-working, dedicated individuals who are available to us.”

Thompson said that as the company grows, more jobs will be made available to the community. Thompson said she believes it’s important to lead by example in providing employment for her area when possible.

“I know that certain aspects of Nebraska’s economy are thriving. I also think it is disheartening to see the lack of attention given to the small towns and communities that make up this state,” she said.

“I think it is going to take a conscious effort on everyone’s part to make their own community, no matter how big or small, an inviting place for people to live and businesses to settle.”

Thompson said that it’s going to take hard work to attract businesses and people to Nebraska—and keep them here.

“I know many people are used to seeing (Sidump’r trailers) out on job sites and up and down the highway, but I don’t know how many people realize that we are located right here in Northeast Nebraska,” she said.
